Notre-Dame Cathedral
Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Amiens Cathedral raises its sculpted façade and holds twice the volume of Notre-Dame de Paris. In summer and around Christmas, the Chroma show brings the original colours of the portal back to life: meeting there after dark has a touch of magic. People often leave with sparkling eyes, ready to stretch the evening into the lanes of the old quarter.
The Saint-Leu district
At the foot of the cathedral, Saint-Leu lines up its colourful half-timbered houses and canals crossed by small bridges. Once home to the tanners, it is now the lively student district, with bistros, restaurants and terraces along the water. On Place du Don, a shared drink in front of the reflections instantly gives a holiday feel to a first date.
Belfry, squares and Jules Verne
Not far away, Amiens Belfry and Place Gambetta set the rhythm of the city centre, continued by the long pedestrian Rue des Trois-Cailloux. Literature lovers can step inside the Jules Verne House, where the writer spent the end of his life. On Lyad, members from Amiens share their favourite walks; it is up to you to find someone to wander the city with.
